Federal agents swooped into the Washington home of Ilhan Omar early Monday as part of a criminal investigation into how the congresswoman got into America.

Homeland Security Investigations carried out the raid, a source familiar with the matter told Fox News Digital.

‘Today in the Washington, D.C. area, Homeland Security Investigations executed a judicially authorized search warrant secured by the Department of Justice,’ a DOJ spokesperson told the outlet.

‘This enforcement action is part of an ongoing federal investigation,’ the spokesperson added.

Homeland Security, under the leadership of Markwayne Mullin, are zeroing in on immigration paperwork the Somali-born Democrat‘s late father filled out on her behalf when she was a child.

The raid is a major escalation of a case border czar Tom Homan first revealed in mid-September.

Pressed on whether Omar was under investigation, Homan refused to discuss specifics, but warned: ‘No one’s above the law.’ He also declined to rule out stripping her of her American citizenship.

Days earlier, Mullin said the probe reached beyond her disputed 2009 marriage and warned that removal actions could follow if wrongdoing is proven. Omar has long faced claims that she married her own brother to get him into the country.

Omar has flatly denied marrying her brother, branding the allegations ‘absurd and offensive.’

The Daily Mail has contacted Omar’s office for comment regarding the raid.

Minnesota has become ground zero for Trump’s immigration crackdown, home to the largest Somali community in the country.

The state is also at the center of a sprawling Medicaid fraud scandal that federal prosecutors warn could reach $9 billion, and the administration has seized on it, dispatching a strike force of prosecutors

Federal immigration agents shot dead two US citizens, Renee Good and Alex Pretti, within about two weeks of each other in Minneasota in January, sparking a massive backlash that reached into Republican ranks.

The killings still hang over the White House as Republicans scramble to hold on to Congress with the midterms less than a month away.

Monday’s raid is red meat for Trump’s base, and it drags the immigration fight straight back into the spotlight at the eleventh hour.

Omar, a member of the progressive Squad, is one of the president’s most outspoken critics on Capitol Hill and has been a regular target of his attacks since his first term.

Omar married her former political consultant Tim Mynett in Washington in March 2020, just four months after her divorce from Ahmed Hirsi, the father of her three children, was finalized.

Mynett’s ex-wife, Beth, had filed for divorce the previous August, claiming in court papers that he walked out on her after making a ‘shocking declaration of love’ for the congresswoman.

The raid comes less than seven weeks after Minneapolis police swooped on the apartment Omar’s son, Adnan Hirsi, 20, shares with a roommate.

Officers seized guns and ammunition from the home and arrested the roommate, Abdulrahman Abdi, 22, on a weapons charge after finding a firearm in his impounded car.

Hirsi has not been accused of any wrongdoing.
